The motor has been designed as the main drive unit on
Continuous Miner Machines.

The motor is constructed as follows:

- All steel frame
- Heavy duty mild steel end brackets for increased   durability
- Side cable entry via Exp compression gland
- Water jacket cooled
- Flange mounting
- Explosion proof to MSHA 30 CFR 7.3 or SABS IEC 79-1
